Dragons group - The disappearing Tiger

Post by Kimberly, Greer and assisted by Kathryn.

The Dragons are one of Room 6's reading groups. Our reading group have been learning how to make a disappearing Tiger. First you get an A4 piece of paper, then you cut the paper so it's square and with the leftover paper you use it to draw eight lines and in between the lines you skip one line each time and you draw a tiger in between the skipped lines. After that you get a craft knife to cut the lines on the card board and finally you weave your picture in between the open lines and you will have a disappearing Tiger.  Can you see how our tigers disappeared.

Persuasive Writing - Cooking with Insects

                                                                  Creepy Crawly Lunches
I know what you’re thinking “Yuck! Who would want to eat insects for lunch?!” Well I’m a world famous chef, and I make them taste delicious! You should cook with them, because they are low in fat and are cooked around the world, and in different ways.

Insects are packed full of healthy vitamins, and are also full of protein, and are perfect for you if you are on a diet. Even if you are not on a diet they are still the best tasting treat anyway.

Have you ever found it hard to choose a tasty treat well if you try bugs you will never have that trouble again. You can try them any way like, stewed, sprinkled, caramelised, or you could throw them on the old Barbie. That's only a few reasons why you should eat bugs.

Many people around the world eat insects; like in France they eat snails with garlic butter. Other countries eat insects like meal worms, weevils and crickets too! These bugs are made into yummy recipes.

Lots of yummy include bugs like meal worm soup, or ant sprinkles ice cream. Insects are actually in lots of recipes that you do not know about maybe even your favourite! They will be once you try them.
As you can see insects are a healthy snack, they are so nice you might won’t them all the time! You can have them any way you like, maybe you sometimes could make them taste like how other people do all over the world. There for you absolutely must cook with insects!

Creating Chinese Lanterns

Chinese lanterns are really fun and at the same time you're making origami, which can be a group activity.

They look very beautiful and pretty once they are done.

We used different beautiful coloured paper. In our classroom we have them small and big.
