Information Report - KOMODO DRAGON

 KOMODO DRAGON
By Lukas Van Aken

I am learning to write an information report

SSSSSSS, Imagine dragon teeth digging into your skin!  Well it might happen if you wander onto a special island in Indonesia. There you will find  the Komodo Dragon, it is one of the biggest reptiles in the world. They were first  found in Australia and are now found in parts of Indonesia . The  scientific name for the Komodo dragon  is Varanus Komodoensis . They are endangered and there are about only three thousand to five thousand left because they are poached for their skin and other parts of their body. People call them Ora or Land Crocodile.

The Komodo dragon is scaly, brown and black. They have no teeth but they have fangs that hold deadly  venom to kill there prey. They are about 2.4 to 2.7 metres long, and  fully grown males can weigh up to 166 kilograms! They also have a long muscular tail to keep them balanced and  a big flat head. They have sharp claws to to run fast and to claw out the food from the prey.

Komodo dragons are carnivores,  that means they eat meat. They use their claws to rip open and eat other animals  like deer, carrion, pigs, buffalo, horses, snakes, sheep, cattle, birds and their eggs, wild boar and monkeys. They hunt in packs so that means that they can corner an animal and then they all eat it. They can also swim in the sea so that they can eat fish as well. Komodo Dragons can  hide very well with the tall grass where they live, so they can catch animals easily.

Komodo Dragons are now found in some parts of Indonesia like Rinca, Flores, Gili, Motang and Padar. They
are found in tall grassy places, and also hot  places and deserts with lots of trees. They have barely any   water because it is so hot . They have to live close to the sea and need to live around 35 degrees celsius. They are now protected in North America zoos because they are endangered.

So next time you are on a freaky island maybe back out because you might be wandering into a Komodo dragon's territory. If you do carry on wandering,  be careful of your safety, and and also try not to harm them. After all Komodo Dragons are precious, and we wouldn’t want to lose them.

Creative Writing - Golden Sword

The Golden Sword

By Lukas Van Aken

I am learning to entertain my audience

I will always remember that day I became super rich just because of the golden sword I found at Mysterious Island. When I do I shiver with fear and my heart stops beating.

My name is Bob I am a normal man doing the only thing I love doing, going on a vacation. I was going to Hawaii for a holiday. My friend got me a boat and told me it would take me there without doing anything. So I did a simple thing and went to sleep.

Suddenly I woke up, I was heading into a hurricane and in ten second I was unconscious. I woke up feeling dizzy and drowsy. I found myself on this really random island that was definitely not Hawaii. I  decided to adventure.

I came across this temple that had lots of latin writing all over it . I looked down it, there was a mysterious tunnel. I have a fear of darkness but it was worth conquering my fear, off I went.

As I slowly moved down the narrow path I saw a Massive cobra holding a golden sword in its nest It could of cost a fortune and I really wanted it. I decided to reach for it. I snached it out its nest but I was not prepared for what happened next.

The cobra charged at me I ran out of the cave and started to run up and down and all around until I ran through two trees, yes the cobra got stuck.

I heard a noise, it sounded like a plane. I found a bit of shiney thing that came of my boat in the hurricane and reflected it at the plane still making sure I was holding onto the sword. the plane landed and took me away back home.

I was soon back to my Hometown I became a millionaire  now I live in a Mansion and the whole world knows my name.
