We have made a fun film about us selling school bags with Greer as the director, Dalton as the main character, Liam and Jarry as the friends and Cole as the editor! We have put a lot of effort into this film, we hope you enjoy!

The Amazing Cuttlefish

There are creatures on the ocean floor and people think they are aliens, these creatures eat shrimp and crab and they also can shape-shift, they have green blood as well. These creatures are cuttlefish.

Appearance

Cuttlefish are cephalopods that have the ability to change color and shape, which means they can disguise themselves to get away from predators. Cuttlefish don’t have a tail fin or anything like that, they have one fin that goes all the way across their bodies. Cuttlefish also have eyes at the back of their heads, so they can see if predators are coming.

Protection

Cuttlefish have jet propulsion, they can shoot water from their bodies to escape predators, they are also known to spray ink if alarmed to cause confusion. Cuttlefish flesh is poisonous, so if they get eaten the predator who ate it won’t survive either.

Ability

Cuttlefish can change color and shape in seconds by using special skin cells and chromatophores (cells containing color), which reflect light in all sorts of colors. They also have three hearts, one for each gill and one for the rest of the body. Cuttlefish bones are full of gas, they have small chambers of gas that keep them floating.

Conclusion

I believe Cuttlefish are amazing and unique and that people should find out more about weird and wonderful animals like the Cuttlefish.

Wizards - Shark Poster

In room 6 the wizards (a reading group) made posters with information on sharks, by writing up facts we found from a range of sources.  We read articles, we searched the library and we also used the internet.  We read and transferred this knowledge into our own ideas and typed out the facts and things we found important.  We printed them out and stuck them onto our posters or sharks we drew and painted. Some of us also made fish to put on and decorate. Here is a picture some of posters about sharks.  Come and check them out in room 6. 

Persuasive Writing - Cooking with Insects

          What can climb, fly and especially be eaten? That’s right, an insect. I am a world famous chef that supports the cooking and consuming of insects. Have you ever seen a cooking pot full of insects? It might look bad but it tastes divine. Insects are a perfect treat that are healthy and people all around the world eat them. These little creatures may be small but are huge in taste.

What would you rather have a cookie or a chocolate covered cockroach? If you’ve never tried a bug, I know what you’re thinking, “I’d rather have that cookie”. Well sweet, savoury or sour this meal is going to know your socks off. Insects are in many tasty meals; you can caramelise them into a lollipop or even have them in your ice cream as buried treasure. If you have kids you can keep them as a treat and give them out if they have been good. I think you should really eat insects. Not only are they delicious but they can keep your body loving you.

As well as being a tasty treat, insects are very healthy for you. They are low on fat and sugar but extremely high in protein. I believe you should eat insects some time in your life. If you are on a healthy diet they absolutely perfect for it! Not only are insects healthy but they are an exotic option from all around the world.

Did you know that these small creatures are your plane ticket to flavour land? These insects that you must have are in dishes from all around the world. These perfectly exotic foods will let you go to other countries without physically going. They are tiny creatures yet they are gigantic in taste. 

As you can see people must eat insects at least once in their life. Not only are dishes with insects exotic but they are very healthy and a very tasty treat after all of this, I haven’t even told you all of the benefits of cooking and eating insects.

Room 6’s Epic Names!

 Room 6 decided to make a wall display of our first names with the first letter decorated with colours.  

We wanted to display our names so that everyone could see them and know what our names are.

  

We designed the letters with our colouring pencils and felts and stuck them on to the rest of our names with glue then stapled them on the wall.
