Over term two and three we have been taught by the lovely Miss Gleeson in media studies (I.C.T work). We worked as a team to accomplish this film it took us a lot of effort to develop a billboard, a presentation, a poster, a storyboard, a film and editing. Overall we had lots of fun and enjoyed the experience.

Mothers Day Tribute

Mum, you are the best mum ever. You always make me feel loved and special. You can always help me when I have a problem. You can always tell when I’m sad and make me happy again. You are the most magnificent, marvellous, wonderful, fabulous, lovely, amazing mum. I love you.

Room 6's Funky Seahorses

The Cherubs are one of Room Six's reading groups.  We have been busy researching facts and creating interesting ways to display information.  We decided to make mobiles with seahorses. We collected information through reading books and searching information about seahorses, we wrote a P.M.I (Positive, Minus and Interesting Chart) in our exercise books and we coloured and decorated seahorse templates. We then typed and printed out their key facts in our own words and stuck them on the back of the seahorses. The cherubs got cardboard tubes, wrapped them up in red and blue tissue paper. Finally they tied and glued string to the covered tubes and hung them up on display in room 6.

Persuasive Writing - Cooking with Insects

I am learning to write a persuasive piece of writing.

 A Plate of Creepy Crawlies

 If someone handed you a plate of insects for your dinner, would you be happy? I am a world famous chef, and I serve insects all the time. My customers love them and you should love them too. Don’t believe me? Well, there are many reasons why you should eat them, but I’ll just name a few. They are healthy, tasty and eaten all over the world in lots of different ways.

 If you’re watching your waistline, these creatures are perfect. Insects are low in fat but high in vitamins. Cooking with them is a great way to have healthy but tasty meals. This makes them perfect if you’re on a diet, or looking for a way to explore exotic food.

 Insects are eaten all over the world, so you wouldn’t be the only one. Different countries cook insects in different ways, so if you’re traveling, you could find yourself eating them cooked, caramelised, barbecued, or even deep fried and battered.

 Insects are delicious. If you eat them, you’ll find that they are an even better snack then crackers and cookies. Just add a sprinkle of weevils, a dash of crickets and a handful of mealworms and you’ll have a yummy treat that’s perfect for everyone.     

As you can see, insects are a great way to eat, and that you really should eat them. They are healthy, tasty, and eaten all over the world in lots of different ways. So, if you’re nibbling away at insects you’ll know that you’ve made the right choice. You really must eat insects.

Lent in room six

Lent is very important to us at Good Shepherd because we are a Catholic School. 

We learn about the bible stories around Lent. We also do role-plays about stories like the last supper. 

Most of the people in room six have given something up for lent, like a Nintendo or lollies. Some of us have decided to do something nice every day instead. We also do book work about Lent.
