Dragons group - The disappearing Tiger

The Dragons are one of Room 6's reading groups. Our reading group have been learning how to make a disappearing Tiger. First you get an A4 piece of paper, then you cut the paper so it's square and with the leftover paper you use it to draw eight lines and in between the lines you skip one line each time and you draw a tiger in between the skipped lines. After that you get a craft knife to cut the lines on the card board and finally you weave your picture in between the open lines and you will have a disappearing Tiger. Can you see how our tigers disappeared.

Persuasive Writing - Cooking with Insects
Do you love tasty treats?
What is crunchy and yummy to cook with in meals? That’s right Insects. Insects are tasty treats, they are healthy and they are used all over the world. I’m a chef famous for serving insect to all my customers. You definitely should cook with insects like all the other people around the world.
Do you like tasty treats? Well you’re looking at the right place, because we are talking about the yummiest treat ever, insects. Insects are perfect if you’re looking for a tasty snack and they are also quick and easy. You must cook with insects. Insects are not only tasty but they are also good for you.
Insects are good if you’re watching your waist line because they are really healthy for you and they are low and fat. Insects can get you on track for a healthy life. Everyone should cook with insect.
How about travelling the world by eating insects? Insects are very exotic and a lot of other countries cook with them so why can’t you. For example in Tonga you can have raw snails chilled or barbecued Huhu grubs from New Zealand.
I think everyone should taste insects because it will make your tongue explode with flavour. I strongly believe that you must cook with insects, cooking with insects is a tasty treat, a healthy option and also you can explore the tastes around the world. I believe that everyone must cook with insects.

The best camp ever!!!
On Monday 3rd of January 2014 the year six’s went to camp.
Everyone went by car, lots of parent’s volunteered. We were learning how to survive when it comes to water, we were learning about water safety and how to keep ourselves safe. We went snorkelling, and looking for fish, the group called sharks found 2 snappers and Te-Aute and Reta found one blue fish, it was exiting. We also went abseiling, we made a reef and learnt to tie different types of knots.
