Creative Writing - Gone Missing

Gone Missing
I.a.l.t entertain my audience
by Poppy Clemas
One frosty cold morning Charlie Alexandra Brown went outside to the pond to entertain himself, he was tossing stones as far and as fast as he could into the pond and something very mysterious was happening, the stones were coming back to him, he was confused and terrified. He thorough the last one and ran off in fright.

Soon he had saw the stone had gone past him and was heading towards the forest, he looked at his parents making breakfast and knew he was just imagining it so charlie chased after the stone into the forest forgetting his parents didn't know where he was.

He sprinted into the forest, running after the stone, he got into the forest and the stone was out of site, it had disappeared, so he wandered back thinking he was imagining it, he started walking back until he heard a rustle in the trees near by, he stopped and looked around then snuck into the trees and found a trail of stone prints, he ran after the prints not noticing he was going into another planet.

He ran into some tall, strong and odd looking people, and they thought that he was trying to get into Taylor's palace to see the queen so they dumped him in jail. Charlie felt something very odd in the room but the thing was there was nothing in the room, he looked around and knew he would be stuck in there for ever. He sat down and was trying to think of a way to escape.

He put his hands on the bar and he noticed they bent a little, he pushed the bars as hard as he could and made a hole as big as him, so he crept through the hole and walked around looking for the exit. Well he was doing that he saw the stone bouncing towards the mountains, so looked round and saw the exit was nowhere to be seen. He looked at the stone and knew it would take him back home, he took off following the stone.

As he was running he saw that the sky was turning pink, he stopped for a break and listened to a sound of howling and growling all around. Charlie looked around and saw that a massive lollipop monster was coming towards him, he sprinted as fast as a cheater before the lollipop got to close, his heart froze as he saw the giant lollipop’s sharp teeth and even worse the stone on top of the lollipop guarding it.

He raced between the mountains and saw the stone had gone past him and into a gold circle as big as a mouse, and disappeared, so he looked around at all the candy surrounding and the lollipop monster then at the gold circle and decided to go into the gold circle, he ran into the circle, then everything turned white but one thing, a door. The stone stopped and looked around to Charlie, Charlie was shaking with fear and stood back, then the stone continued heading towards the door. The door opened and the stone went through.

Charlie looked behind him then looked in front of him he ran to the door and went through, he was back in the forest, he saw the rock going back to the pond and laying on the pond shore. Charlie felt a breeze racing down his spine, he walked back up to the pond. He saw the stone laying on the pond shore looking like a normal stone, he bent down to pick it up,his hands felt like they were boneless and losing circulation, once he picked it up he skimmed it as far as he could but nothing happened, it didn't come back, it didn't bounce around, and it certainly didn't run away from him. Was he dreaming , was he just imagining it, or was it all true. Who knows?

I am learning to entertain my audience.

One stormy afternoon a strange thing happened. There was a man named Jeff. He had a naughty dog called Timmy. It was a Bull Terrier. He was naughty because he bit people. He was sitting in his small, tidy house reading, when he thought he saw the back door knob turn, in the corner of his eye. He thought it must have been his imagination but then it happened again. He was not sure what to do, he picked up his chair as a weapon and opened the door but there was no one there. He was puzzled.

Creak! “Who is there?” he quietly called out.
Jeff was sitting at the table the next morning eating breakfast when he thought he heard the doorknob turn. This time he was brave enough to open the door and found nothing.

That night when Jeff was sound asleep he was woken by the sound of the back doorknob creaking again, creak, creak, creak. He tiptoed down the stairs and went straight to the back door and with trembling hands he opened the door. ‘’Who's there he called out.’’ He heard the sound of running in the bushes. ‘’I’ll call the police he screamed out.’’ Suddenly he heard the kitchen window being pushed open and he hurried to the kitchen and saw two men jump in each holding a gun they each had a ski mask covering their face.  Jeff walked as quietly as he dared to the phone and called the police. They came over as soon as they could.

When the police came Jeff said there were burglars in the house and he was not sure where they were. The police started looking for them and finally caught the burglars under Jeff's bed. The burglars saw the police too and got there shotguns out. The police got their pistols out too and hid on the other side of the bed and fired at the burglars. The  robbers fired back just as Jeff was walking out of the room and he got hit by the bullet and fell to the ground. The police and the robbers were still shooting at each other. Finally when the police were down to there last bullet they shot at the robbers and they died as well as Jeffry.

Creative Writing - The Odd, Mystical Chair

The Odd, Mystical Chair
By Anija Irvine

I am learning to entertain my audience.

I will always remember the 13th of March 1845. Falling on a Friday it created a gloomy afternoon, quite fitting for a Black Friday. It had just hit 2 o’clock and Violet was was hopping out the door of the covenant, to complete her usual Friday afternoon rounds at the rest home.  As she stepped out she took a quick glance down Werelock Avenue. That’s when she saw the chair, not just an ordinary chair but a strange and mystical chair that drew her attention to it.  This chair would change her life forever.

Vi (as her friends called her) feeling the pull of the chair made her way towards it, ignoring her regular afternoon visit.  Sweeping up the chair in her arms, Vi and the Chair strolled inside. She went over to the kitchen to get a coffee (black and strong) and sat in the chair. She dozed off a bit from seeing this flying chair in a little dead end road on the outskirts of London. She had been sitting on the mystical chair for around five minutes when ‘BOOM!.’ With a crack and a creak she was zooming into the sky.

At first she thought it would be an awesome adventure, It was when she figured she was traveling over the Indian Ocean  at around 5,000 km per hour, that she changed her mind.
You would be scared too, if you were on this odd mystical chair that looked like it was from the 1700s, had one leg missing and a lot of keys, pots and pans connected to it; and that is why Violet was freaking out.

‘Clang Bang Crash’ it was as if an engine had thrown up. As Violet fainted, the slightest noise came out of her mouth. You could hear the chair yelping at the sight of Violet Samuels from 27 Werelock Avenue falling asleep.

She woke up while noticing that she was in Rio. Her childhood dream was to go to Rio she was so excited. It was the best day of her life. That night she went out for dinner at an incredible restaurant called ‘La Sagal Macadere’ She ordered a double Faladere, a special at this restaurant. She felt like a little walk, so she quickly swooped through the restaurant as her eagle eyes scanned the area. She walked over to the back door where she saw an oddly shaped figure.

She went and had a look, while examining it she figured out it was the chair in disguise it looked like a zombie and was coming towards her. Ahh, trembling with fear she took a deep breath and ran for her life. She started to run  but the chair had locked the door. The chair was coming after her, Suddenly she started to jump off the walls, crawl under the chairs legs, she even walked on the roof. Had this all been a dream? Is this just my imagination? she thought.

The next morning she was surprised at the sight of the pink drawer in front of her bed, one night Rio, next morning home again! Violet quickly scanned the room and raced down the stairs through the kitchen and out the door. Wait a second she slowly backed back and took a speedy look in the kitchen she saw the chair but the normal not scary one.

Creative Writing - THE UNINVITED GUEST

THE UNINVITED GUEST

By Ata-Marie Kerrison

As I walked up to the attic to gather some objects I heard the door creek, I didn’t think  or wonder if anything was there but just to check I went through a few things, luckily nothing was to be seen but I did notice a little piece of a start of a match.

As the sun rose the next morning I questioned my dad, I asked as if i was detectiv I explained every little detail as briefly as I could.

As the day was ending once again I leisurely walked up stairs it felt like a mouse was running up my back. As I took the first step to the attic I had a hunch as if my legs ditched me, I saw a pair of roller skates next to the door, I was terrified to go near but it was the only way for my fear to disappear.

As I slowly walked near the door my heart shattered into pieces. As I grabbed the door knob my hand started shivering I quickly opened the door, it was blank, dark empty but i felt if there was something still there so I roamed through the junk looking through the boxes till i found a………

Creative Writing - The House on the Hill

The House on the Hill
by Chloe Simpson

I am learning to entertain my audience.

As far as I can remember back, I had always lived with my Auntie Alice. I can’t say many people are like my Aunt. She is hmmm… slightly strange, Very forgetful and people often yell at her, “Witch, wicked witch of the house on the Hill.” You see we live high up on the hill, people refuse to live below us. However my aunt isn’t a witch, she is very sweet but unique.

In our house things are different. I wake to find a large ice-cream sundae for breakfast prepared by Aunt Alice, for my tenth birthday I got a pet tiger cub named Kira. We never clean the house but yet in a blink of an eye my Aunt cleans it. (Generally she sends me to a shops when this happens).

There is only one rule when living in the House on the Hill, and that is, my Aunt has a door that leads to a room that no one has ever been in expect her. The door must stay shut at all times. “Do not, and I repeat myself, do not enter that room. The door must be kept shut at all times.” This door is no ordinary door, found on the second floor of the house, very large in size and heavy solid wood, with large brass door knobs shaped as a lion’s head. I have always followed my Aunt’s wishes.

However It all started when one gloomy day my Auntie Alice left that door wide open. This was a day that no one could truly forget. I could feel a gentle breeze coming inside, feeling it as it sent goosebumps over my flesh. The wind started to pick up, blowing harder and harder, When all of a sudden a loud noise was stamping closer and closer towards me. A huge hairy moose and a furious lion appeared coming out behind the door. When they noticed me standing in the corner of the living room, they both charged right at me. I screamed and started sprinting as fast as I could off to my bedroom, up some stairs, past the kitchen, the bathroom, also past the study. Then up some more stairs, past some other rooms. Running in fear, as these creatures closed in on me.

Finally safe at last in my own cozy bedroom, I slammed the door shut behind me as I slid my weight down as my back pushed against the door sliding to floor holding my cub tiger, Kira to protect her. The strong wind I had once felt started to build again, I could feel the strong wind beating against my arm, beating me as if he was attacking me. It was coming from the window that I had left wide open. It was not a normal breeze that comes from outside it was much, much stronger.

I looked at the window and I saw a humongous hawk flying next to my bed. My cub was shivering with fear and I was too. I quietly whispered to Kira,” We will be ok Kira its fine”.  Looking up I had noticed the wallpaper that was generally covered in colourful birds, was now missing some of the repeating pattern. Scared that the rest of the wall would come alive I ran down the stairs holding Kira. The Hawk darting after us, trapping us on the second floor, the Hawk squawking at me as if it was laughing, as it played a game of cat and mouse. Before a strange devil type alien with horns that was going squelch, squelch, right in front of me.  Freezing in my steps, I heard a familiar sound, it was the sound of my tiger cub trying to roar, she still hadn't mastered it yet but when I turned back to Kira, as she started roaring just like an adult tiger even though she is only six months old.

My little tiger, leaped from my arms, I screamed after her as she started to charge at the devil and the hawk.  When all of a sudden the roar from Kira sent sound waves through the room forcing the devil to shake as he split back into two, it was the lion and moose from earlier. Kira continue to roar as she backed them into the corner, pushing them with her roar towards the forbidden door.  I moved quickly behind her as she made them enter the room, slamming the door shut. “Whew that was lucky. Kira you saved me and yourself.’

As I stood cuddling Kira, I thought back over the events.  Where had my Aunt been during all of this? Was this the reason why the door needed to stay shut? Was she really a witch that everyone had claimed. It all made sense now, the forbidden door, a gateway to a magical world, a magical cub gifted to protect me from the possibilities of this house, the house on the hill. I would definitely need more information from my Aunt upon her return.

ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day

This was a very special ANZAC Day, it marked 100 years since the ANZAC died for us.

Here is Room Six's Art work:  This shows the Good Shepherd, looking over the soldiers.  Each soldier is a poppy and we wrote a Psalm for ANZAC Day that was wrapped around the stem of the poppy.  Please check out our display in the Foyer.

These are some real poppies planted by our Garden Club.

The Crosses that Sharyn placed in the Field
This is our ceremony for ANZAC Day...

We lit candles for the past, present and the future.
We took up symbols during our ceremony.
